BIOGRAPHY
Rick Springfield has had ups and downs than the average idol. A native of Australia, Rick migrated to America when his career was taking off down under. He signed a deal wth Capitol Records, and had a brief showing on the charts with his first US single, "Speak To The Sky," which peaked at #14 in September of 1972.

Rick became a teen magazine staple, though he was not so much a cover boy as a featured regular. In 1973, Rick became the animated star of the Saturday morning cartoon "Mission: Magic." The series lasted for only one season, but it featured a new Rick Springfield song each week. Australian fans were treated to a soundtrack LP, while the US got an LP of alternate songs called "Comic Book Heroes."

Dissapointing sales left Rick without a recording contract, so he turned to acting. He took acting classes, and worked on losing his Australian accent. Rick's good looks and perserverance led to a contract with Universal, which landed him in roles in a number of action shows including "Wonder Woman," "The Incredible Hulk" and "Battlestar Gallactica."

In the early ’80s, Rick got a regular role on soap opera "General Hospital" as Dr. Noah Drake. Simultaneously, Rick signed to RCA records, and began working on his LP "Working Class Dog." The album was released in1981,as was the first single, "I've Done Everything For You." The single seemed to flop, so RCA quickly issued a second single, "Jesse's Girl." the song was a smash hit, and Rick became a superstar.

Several albums followed, and a string of top selling its. Rick continued to act from time to time, though he may have made a small mistake when he turned down a role in the film "An Officer and a Gentelman" to star in the difficult-to-sit-through "Hard to Hold."

WHERE IS HE NOW?
Ric k took a decade haitus from recording to raise his two sons. He appeared in a few acting roles in the ”90s, though he kept a relatively low profile. In 1998, Rick went back on the road with a well recieved concert tour, and in spring , 1999, he released the very personal "Karma" CD, and in January of 2001 will release "Greatest Hits Alive."
