Leif Garrett and Shaun Cassidy were the biggest names in the Idol game in the late ’70s. Andy Gibb was also huge, but was not cover-fodder like some of the nice looking TV stars like Clark Brandon, Jimmy MacNichol, Greg Evigan, Peter Barton, Scott Baio and Erik Estrada. The Bay City Rollers was the pop band of choice, though a line was drawn in the sand at the end of the decade, when the Kiss Army invaded the covers.
